of DJ /Rupture's "Low Income Tomorrowland." Jace Clayton's
new mix CD contains a rock solid 40 minute mix from Lemon-Red,
Brooklyn's wed radio show plus an hour-long MP3 mix from a German
radio show. The reviews have already been astounding for this weblog-minded
project. $8
**"SKY CITY RISING" CD
EP (BB28)
Luca Venezia a.k.a. Drop the Lime, has been one on America’s most prolific
young electronic artists. Since his first EP on Ambush back in 2003, he’s
released multiple singles and 2 LPs as Drop the Lime, as well as a handful of
vinyl as half of Trouble & Bass. Now Broklyn Beats is happy to introduce
fans to a new direction in his sound. "Sky City Rising" is a conceptual
vision based around Luca's love for dub and the new dubstep sounds. It will culminate
with a video to accompany this half-hour EP. Dub is definitely the word as Venezia
flows from full-on dubstep dread of "Try Harder" to the closing "Spaceman" with
its plaintive lost vocals delivered by Venezia’s signature voice. $8
**Parts & Labor "Escapers
One" 12" EP
(BB27) Williamsburg punk noise band drops their all-electronic
debut with anthemic melodies of noise and distortion creating a
blurred-out landscape of grand proportions. $10
**1-Speed Bike "Redux" 12" EP (BB26)
Aidan Girt returns with a re-master reissue of his dubby (sic) 7" from
2002, as well as his 2 newest tracks from his new LP, "Someone
Told Me Life Gets Easier in Your 50's." Organic dub drumming
gets a looped electro treatment with additional dub layers. $8
**DJ Slip "She's A Time
Traveller" CD
(BB25)
Troy Geary makes pointed, mental techno harkening back to his Midwest
Acid upbringing, but hinting at a newer breakbeat sound deadly on
the dancefloor. A master at the form, often spun by Richie Hawtin
and Jeff Mills, this, his third LP is his most sonically charged
and cohesive to date. $12
Les Trolls "Culture de l'incoherence" CD
(Broklyn Beats 24)
A collection of this French collective's best tracks and artwork,
melding experimental breaks with nomadic living, marijuana, French
rap and grafitti. Their American debut!!! $12
Rotator
"Redux" 12" (Broklyn Beats 23)
Three new tracks from the definitive breakcore sound of France's Rotator
collide with their two previous tracks from the Broklyn Beats (sic)
7" from 2001. Blazing, nuts and beautiful. $8
1-Speed Bike "Someone Told Me Life Gets Easier in Your 50's"
CD (BB22) Aidan Girt returns with his first 1-Speed Bike
full-length and it's been well worth the wait. Girt seamlessly mixes
tracks from his 2 previous 12"s with new material runnin' the
spectrum from Godspeed! tribal sludge to experimental electro breaks
to dubby disco. A unique and cohesive sound emerges. His best to date!!!
$12
Disco Rallado sampler mix
CD by Criterion (BB21) Based on the Broklyn Beats bi-weekly
webradio show on Barcelona's www.burn.fm Disco Rallado is the label's
first mix CD and label sampler. In this one-hour mix Criterion introduces
us to a selection of 20 tracks from the labels past and present. Among
the artists featured are Jason Forrest, DJ /Rupture, End and doily.
As well as a preview of many of the label's fall releases from Rotator,
1-Speed Bike and Les Trolls, the mix is also the label's first live
document of the Broklyn sound: noisy, punk, sharp and broken. $6
DJ /Rupture "Redux" 12"(BB20) Jace
Clayton's 3 early tracks for Broklyn plus a Rotator remix and a new
burner. Hot!!! $8
1-Speed Bike "Klootzak Keizer"

four tracks of dubby disco tech with plenty of live drum loops and
sharp wit. Ready for the summer dancefloor! $8
Criterion
/ MPLD "La Ciudad" CDEP/Video (BB18) A 20-minute
EP and video incorporating Criterion's gritty breaks and MPLD's
street collage. Finally out!!!! $8
Jason
Forrest / End "Ladies Get in Free" split 12"
(Broklyn Beats 017) Three tracks each from these old neighborhood
buddies. Jason Forrest may be better known to many as Donna Summer,
the plunderphonic prog-rockin' disco queen of tomorrow giving us plenty
of mashed-up breaks. End's side mashes things up as well, but tends
more toward mambo and surf breaks... all for the ladies... $8
Drop
the Lime "1 for the Team" 12"
(Broklyn Beats 016) While DtL has had releases on a lot of
great labels, we are happy to be the first New York label to be releasing
his NYC breakcore. Contained within are 5 tracks of splattercore breaks
with ravey anthemic touches of keys, twisted vocal snippets, drunken
slowdowns and a wicked dub version for playing on the subway real
loud. $8
Troy
Geary "Technical Remote Viewer" 12" (Broklyn
Beats 015) 4 tracks of supremely mental electro like only DJ Slip
makes it. With a long techno career spanning from Drop Bass to Missle
to Kanzlerampt and most recently, Jeff Mills' new mix, Troy Geary
has solidified his standing as techno dub master. Four tracks of raw
drum machine electro and mental twists. Where's the breakcore? Who
cares! $8
1-Speed Bike
"El Gallito 12" (Broklyn Beats 013/014) Mr.
Flenkenkenmike's sharpest and quite arguably best yet, incorporating
live dubby techno rhythms with additional strings and an absurd
realism.$8
Criterion
& Doily CD (Broklyn Beats 012) Both of
their new 12"s and Criterion's previous "Root Canal"
12". Broklyn's first 3 12"s on one 18-track CD. $12

12" (Broklyn Beats 011) psychedelic, loopy breaks $8
Doily "Mattress
of the Universe" 12" (Broklyn Beats 010) Six
trax of gritty, broken dubby breaks and balophonics. $8

Donna Summer "PopXplosion"
7" (Broklyn Beats 7.7) We were able to snag 10 remaining

page, but a nice, rare piece of vinyl and one of his best. $8
